The National Weather Service issued multiple thunderstorm warnings starting around 2 p.m., alerting communities to the impending severe weather. Reports from various areas, including Royal Palm Beach, highlighted the storm’s impact, with downed trees and localized flooding observed. In one instance, a tree was toppled in a Publix parking lot at the intersection of State Road 7 and Southern Boulevard.

Meteorologists had anticipated the potential for strong to severe storms due to a weak front moving through South Florida. The combination of heat and humidity created conditions ripe for thunderstorms capable of producing hail and damaging winds. While the risk for tornadoes was low, it could not be entirely ruled out.

As the storms progressed, they left behind a trail of minor damages, including scattered debris and temporary power outages. By early evening, the severe weather began to subside, with skies clearing and temperatures settling into the mid to upper 70s.

Looking ahead, the Memorial Day weekend forecast indicates continued hot and humid conditions, with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s. Afternoon and evening thunderstorms remain a possibility, particularly in inland areas. Residents are advised to stay informed about weather updates and exercise caution during outdoor activities.
