Gunfire Near Abacoa Golf Club Triggers Active Threat Alert at FAU Jupiter Campus
A tranquil evening at Abacoa Golf Club in Jupiter, Florida, was disrupted on Tuesday when a local resident opened fire on golfers, prompting an active threat alert at the nearby Florida Atlantic University (FAU) Jupiter campus.

Incident Overview
Around 6:05 p.m., 27-year-old Daniel Nobile allegedly fired six to ten shots from the patio of his home on Barbados Drive, targeting four golfers on the third hole of the course. The golfers reported that the shots landed near them, causing them to seek cover. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Law Enforcement Response
Upon receiving reports of the shooting, Jupiter Police, along with SWAT and crisis negotiation teams, responded swiftly. They identified Nobile’s residence and established communication. Nobile surrendered peacefully without further incident.
FAU Jupiter Campus Alert
Given the proximity of the incident to FAU’s John D. MacArthur campus, the university issued an “active threat” alert at 6:47 p.m., advising students and staff to “Run, Hide, Fight.” An “all-clear” notification followed at 7:09 p.m., confirming no threat to the campus.
Legal Proceedings
Nobile has been booked on charges of attempted murder. Authorities are investigating the motive behind the shooting, noting that there was no prior interaction between Nobile and the golfers.
