No SSI Check in June? Here’s the Shocking Truth Behind It!
Hey, if you noticed you didn’t get your usual SSI payment this June, don’t freak out. It’s not that your check disappeared or there’s some kind of problem. The government just switched up the schedule a bit, and I’ll explain why.
So, Why No Check in June?
Normally, SSI payments land on the first day of each month. But when the 1st falls on a weekend or a holiday, they send the money a little earlier so it doesn’t get delayed.
In 2025, June 1st is a Sunday. Because of that, the Social Security Administration (SSA) sent out June’s payment early on Friday, May 30th. So you actually got your June money… just a few days ahead of time.
That’s why you didn’t get a separate payment on June 1st or later in June—it’s already in your account!
What Does This Mean for You?
Basically, no money is missing. Your June payment came a bit early, so don’t worry. But this can feel confusing if you’re used to seeing the payment on the 1st every month.
Just keep in mind your payments might occasionally come early or late because of how weekends and holidays fall.

When’s Your SSI Money Coming in 2025?
Here’s the lowdown on when you’ll get paid for the rest of the year:
-
July 1
-
August 1
-
August 29 (early for September)
-
October 1
-
October 31 (early for November)
-
December 1
-
December 31 (early for January 2026)
Usually, it’s the 1st of the month unless the 1st is a weekend or holiday—in which case, they pay early on the last business day before it.
What About Social Security Retirement or Disability Payments?
Those work a bit differently. They’re based on your birthday:
-
If your birthday is between the 1st and 10th, you get paid on the second Wednesday of the month.
-
Birthdays between the 11th and 20th get paid the third Wednesday.
-
Birthdays between the 21st and 31st get paid the fourth Wednesday.
So for June 2025:
-
Birthdays 1–10 got paid June 11
-
Birthdays 11–20 got paid June 18
-
Birthdays 21–31 got paid June 25
If you started benefits before May 1997, your payment comes on the 3rd of the month.
Quick Tip
Make sure your bank info with the SSA is current. If it’s not, payments can get delayed or even lost. You can update your info online or by calling your local office.
Not seeing a June check doesn’t mean you lost your money. The SSA just paid early to work around the weekend. Your benefits are safe and sound.
