Louisiana News Anchor Sues Competitor Over False Claims of Attempting to Meet Minor
SHREVEPORT, LA (June 11, 2025) — Bill Lunn, a former Emmy-winning news anchor for KTBS in Shreveport, Louisiana, has filed a defamation lawsuit against competitor KTAL and journalists Dan and Jacquelyn Jovic. The legal action stems from a June 2024 KTAL report alleging Lunn was caught attempting to meet a 14-year-old girl, portraying him as a predator based on information from three self-proclaimed vigilantes.

Lunn maintains he was communicating with someone claiming to be 19 on Tinder and was instead violently robbed by the same individuals — Antonio Coleman, Kataurio Grigsby, and Kameron Kennon — who were later arrested for similar schemes. Lunn cooperated with police, was never charged, and investigators confirmed the text messages had been altered to falsely suggest the woman was a minor.
Despite being cleared, Lunn resigned from KTBS due to potential reputational harm and hoped to return after the facts came to light. The lawsuit claims KTAL’s coverage caused irreversible reputational, emotional, and professional damage and criticizes the station for refusing to correct the report. Lunn claims his privacy was invaded and seeks damages for defamation, invasion of privacy, and emotional distress.
Neither KTAL’s owner Nexstar nor the Jovics have commented on the lawsuit.
