Texas SNAP Alert: Did You Miss Your Payment This Week? Here’s Who Gets Paid Now

If you’re on SNAP in Texas and you’ve been checking your Lone Star Card this June, you’re not alone. A lot of folks are asking the same thing: “When will my benefits show up?” Especially if it’s already the second week of the month and you haven’t seen anything yet.
The short answer? It depends on your EDG number — that’s your Eligibility Determination Group number — and when the state schedules your payment based on that number.
Let’s break it all down so you know exactly what to expect this June.
How Texas Handles SNAP Payments Each Month
Texas doesn’t send everyone their SNAP benefits on the same day. Instead, payments are spread out over the entire month, based on the last two digits of your EDG number. That number comes from your SNAP case and stays the same unless your case closes and you reapply.
This system helps prevent delays and keeps the EBT system running smoothly for millions of families.
If You’re Getting Paid in the Second Week of June
If the last digit(s) of your EDG number are 6, 7, 8, or 9, your benefits will come during the second week of June 2025:
-
If your EDG ends in 6, you’ll get paid on June 11
-
If it ends in 7, expect payment on June 12
-
If it ends in 8, your date is June 13
-
And if it ends in 9, your funds will hit June 15
So if you fall into that group, your money is coming soon. Keep an eye on your card and make sure your balance updates on those days.

What If You Were Supposed to Get Paid Earlier?
Texas started paying out SNAP for June on the 1st, as usual. Here’s a quick reminder of who got paid in the first week:
-
EDG ending in 00 to 03: paid on June 1
-
EDG ending in 04 to 06: June 2
-
EDG ending in 07 to 10: June 3
-
EDG ending in 11 to 13: June 4
-
EDG ending in 14 to 17: June 5
Payments will continue to roll out through June 28 for higher EDG numbers. So if your number ends with something other than 6–9, your payment is either already here or still on the way later this month.
How to Find Your EDG Number
Not sure what your EDG number is? You can:
-
Log in at YourTexasBenefits.com
-
Look at your original approval letter or SNAP case documents
-
Call 2-1-1 and speak with someone at Texas Health and Human Services
Once you know the last two digits, it’s easy to match your payment date to the schedule.
Heads Up: Rule Changes Might Be Coming
There’s been talk in the news lately about changes to what SNAP can be used for. One proposal in Texas would ban the use of SNAP benefits to buy soda and candy. Nothing has been finalized yet, but if that bill passes, it could take effect later in 2025.
For now, there are no changes to what you can buy — but it’s a good idea to stay informed.
What to Do if Something Feels Off
If your payment doesn’t show up when it should, or your card has issues, don’t wait too long to act. Here’s what you can do:
-
Double-check your EDG number and payment date
-
Log in to YourTexasBenefits.com to see your case status
-
Call 2-1-1 for direct help
-
Make sure your contact info is current in case the state needs to reach you
If your EDG ends in 6, 7, 8, or 9, your SNAP benefits are scheduled to arrive sometime between June 11 and June 15, 2025. This system may feel a little confusing at times, but once you know how to read your EDG and understand the payment schedule, you’re in control.
The key is just staying on top of your paperwork, checking your card regularly, and reaching out for help if you ever feel like something’s missing or delayed. You’re not alone in this — and you deserve the support you’ve been promised.
