Upon arrival, officers found 27-year-old Marcus Brewer moving a white ATV into a backyard. In a routine pat-down, he admitted to carrying a weapon—later identified as a six-shot .38‑caliber revolver.

Charges Filed

Brewer now faces several serious charges:

  • Aggravated assault—for pointing a gun at people

  • Armed violence—a felony crime

  • Unlawful possession of a weapon—on the ATV

  • Possession of cocaine—found during arrest

  • Operating an unlicensed ATV on a roadway

He’s currently lodged at the La Salle County Jail, awaiting a detention hearing this week.

Why This Matters

  • Public safety at risk: Riding an ATV on city streets is risky enough—adding a firearm escalates the threat to bystanders.

  • Multiple violations: Charges span violent offense, drug possession, and illegal vehicle operation, illustrating the gravity of the incident.

  • Community impact: Residents in Streator are shaken by an ATV sighting coupled with gunplay in a residential area.

Police urge anyone with further information to contact the Streator Police Department or La Salle County authorities.
