In 2020, 3 people died in a Miami Gardens accident, 5 years after which, recently, a person has been arrested in connection with this incident.

On Saturday, 21 June 2025, 47 year old Richard Antoine was arrested, who has been charged with many charges, including three counts of DUI manslaughter.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident happened on August 4, 2020, near the intersection of U.S. 441 and Northwest 204th Street.

Richard Antoine’s arrest warrant states that “Richard was driving south in the outside lane on State Road 7 when he approached Northwest 204th Terrace when another northbound vehicle, a Nissan Altima, attempted to turn left. The two vehicles then collided outside the southbound lanes and as the Nissan turned, a rear passenger was ejected from the car and landed on the southwest corner of the intersection.”

The warrant also states that after the Nissan stopped, the driver and another passenger were pronounced dead at the scene. After this, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue had to use the Jaws of Life to remove their bodies from the car.

The driver pronounced dead in the accident was identified as Kazembe Colin Archer and another passenger was identified as his fiancée, Lashon Verlene Robinson. The passenger who was ejected from the Nissan was identified as Tilda Yutel Mitchell, who also died.

After the accident, Richard Antoine was taken to Aventura Hospital when his car flipped and stopped after striking a light pole.

The warrant states that Richard Antoine consented to a voluntary blood draw and download of his vehicle’s electronic data, which revealed that Antoine had THC in his system and that his blood alcohol level was above the legal limit.

Black box data from Richard Antoine’s car also showed that he was driving 100 mph in a 45 mph zone when he collided with the Nissan.

When Richard Antoine was presented in court on Monday, the judge denied Antoine bail.
