Authorities have captured and arrested a second suspect involved in a shooting incident with law enforcement in Lauderhill. Reece Anglin, 32, was taken into custody on February 14 by Tampa Police and later transferred to Broward County Jail on Thursday, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO).

The incident occurred on February 12 when members of the BSO Gang Investigations Task Force were conducting an operation at the Calypso Cay apartments in the 4100 block of Northwest 21st Street. During the operation, two armed men confronted the officers, pointing firearms directly at them, the BSO reported.

A deputy, in response to the immediate threat, drew his weapon, identified himself as law enforcement, and ordered the suspects to drop their guns. However, the suspects refused to comply and instead opened fire on the officers. In self-defense, the officers returned fire, leading to a dangerous exchange of gunfire.

Following the confrontation, both suspects attempted to flee the scene. While one was apprehended earlier, Anglin managed to escape but was later tracked down and arrested by Tampa Police. His transfer to Broward Jail marks a significant development in the ongoing investigation.

Authorities have not yet released additional details about potential charges Anglin may face, but given the nature of the attack on law enforcement officers, he is expected to face serious criminal charges. The BSO continues to investigate the incident, ensuring that all individuals involved are brought to justice.
