Massive Bust in Miami: 56 Pounds of Weed and Gambling Devices Seized from Smoke Shop

A major bust in Miami led to the seizure of 56 pounds of cannabis and several illegal gambling machines hidden inside a smoke shop. The raid, which took place early on Tuesday morning, was the result of an investigation into suspected illegal activities at the store.

Local law enforcement, working alongside federal agents, uncovered the stash of marijuana, which was packaged for distribution, and discovered several unlicensed gambling machines in the back of the smoke shop. Authorities believe the shop had been using these gambling machines to generate extra income, making the operation a violation of both state and federal laws.

The cannabis seized has an estimated street value of more than $100,000. In addition to the drugs, the gambling machines were also confiscated, as they are not licensed for use in Florida. The smoke shop’s owner, whose identity has not been disclosed, was arrested on charges including drug trafficking, illegal gambling, and operating an unlicensed business.

“This is a reminder that illegal activities like these won’t be tolerated in our community,” said a spokesperson for the Miami Police Department. “We’re committed to ensuring our businesses are held accountable and keeping illegal substances and unregulated gambling out of the hands of residents.”
