Pompano Beach Business Owner Grateful to Be Alive After Shocking Jeep Crash

A Pompano Beach business owner is counting her blessings after a terrifying crash that left multiple people injured and caused significant damage to two local businesses.

The incident occurred last week when a Jeep plowed through Ora Smoke Shop on South Cypress Bend Drive before crashing into Mistress of the Blade barbershop next door. The impact was so severe that it separated the wall between the two establishments. Authorities reported that several people sustained injuries, with at least one person requiring hospitalization.

By Tuesday, the barbershop remained closed due to the extent of the damage. Christine Moyer, the owner of Mistress of the Blade, recalled the horrifying moment, explaining that she was in the middle of cutting a client’s hair when the accident happened.

“We heard the crashing of the glass, and me and my other barber made eye contact. As we did, here comes the truck, taking my client in the chair through that back wall,” Moyer said. “I was cutting his hair, I took three steps over, and that’s when it hit. Had I been standing there, I would have been in that wall.”

The shocking event has left the local community stunned, with business owners now dealing with the aftermath of the destruction. Officials are still investigating the cause of the crash, but for Moyer and those inside the barbershop at the time, it was a close call that could have ended in tragedy.
