Young Woman Brutally Stabbed at Home – The Killer Was Someone She Knew!
Hubballi, Karnataka: A 21-year-old woman was brutally stabbed to death in her own home early Wednesday morning by a former classmate, who had been stalking and harassing her for months. The shocking murder has left the local community outraged, especially after her family revealed that they had warned the police about the suspect multiple times.
The victim, identified as Anjali Ambigera, was at home with her family in the Veerapur Oni area when the suspect, Vishwa alias Girish Sawant (23), showed up at her door around 5:45 a.m. When Anjali answered, he attacked her with a knife, stabbing her multiple times before fleeing the scene.
Her younger sister witnessed the brutal attack, leaving the family in utter devastation. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Anjali did not survive.
Victim Had Repeatedly Rejected the Suspect’s Advances
According to her family, Vishwa had been harassing Anjali for months, persistently pressuring her to be in a relationship with him. He even asked her to travel with him to Mysuru, but she refused every time.
Things took a terrifying turn when he threatened Anjali, saying she would end up like Neha Hiremath, a college student who was stabbed to death just weeks ago in a similar case of obsessive violence.
“We told the police that he was harassing my sister, but nothing was done,” said Anjali’s sister, Yashodha. “Now she is gone.”
Angry Protests Erupt – Family Demands Justice
The murder has triggered outrage in the local community, with protests demanding strict action against the suspect. Many are questioning why no action was taken despite clear warning signs.
Anjali’s father, Mohan, said that his daughter reported the harassment seven months ago, but nothing changed.
“I warned him to stay away from my daughter. We tried to stop this from happening,” he said. “Now she is dead, and he is running free. He must be punished.”

Police on the Hunt for the Suspect
A case has been registered under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (murder), and police have launched a manhunt to arrest Vishwa. Authorities are urging people to remain calm while they continue the investigation.
This tragic case has once again highlighted the urgent need for authorities to take stalking and harassment complaints seriously before they turn into deadly crimes.
