Child Hospitalized After Electric Bike Crash in Palm Beach Gardens
A child is recovering in stable condition following an electric bike accident that occurred on Saturday evening in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

The incident took place around 6:45 p.m. near the intersection of Prosperity Farms Road and Gardens Parkway. Emergency responders transported the child to a local hospital, where they are currently listed in stable condition.
Resident Feather Evans, who lives adjacent to the crash site, reported significant police and ambulance activity at the scene for nearly five hours. She expressed concern over the frequency of such incidents in the area, noting that speeding and reckless behaviour, particularly involving electric bikes, are common issues.
This accident is part of a troubling trend in Palm Beach County. In 2023, 29 individuals were admitted to trauma centres due to e-bike-related injuries. That number more than doubled in 2024, reaching 66 cases. Tragically, earlier this year, two separate e-bike accidents resulted in the deaths of 13-year-old Landon Coggin in Lake Worth and 12-year-old Rico Roundtree in Jupiter.
In response to these incidents, the Jupiter Police Department is organising an e-bike safety event on Saturday, May 17, at Abacoa Park, starting at 9 a.m. The event aims to educate the community on safe riding practices and the importance of adhering to traffic regulations.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the recent crash. Residents are urged to exercise caution and prioritise safety when operating electric bikes, especially in areas with high traffic.
