Faye Iosotaluno, CEO of Tinder, has announced her decision to resign from her role in July 2025, concluding a tenure that began in January 2024. Her departure comes as Tinder and its parent company, Match Group, navigate a period of organizational restructuring and strategic refocusing.

During her leadership, Iosotaluno prioritized enhancing Tinder’s user experience by integrating artificial intelligence into the platform’s recommendation systems. These efforts aimed to personalize user interactions and revitalize engagement on the app. However, the company faced challenges, including a reported 5% decline in paying users during the first quarter of 2025, prompting broader organizational changes.

In response to these challenges, Match Group implemented a 13% workforce reduction earlier this month, with significant impacts on Tinder’s operations. Additionally, the company has been under pressure from activist investors seeking operational improvements and cost reductions.

Match Group CEO Spencer Rascoff, who assumed his position in February 2025, will temporarily oversee Tinder following Iosotaluno’s departure. Rascoff has expressed confidence in the existing leadership team and emphasized a continued focus on innovation and user-centric product development.

Iosotaluno’s decision to step down is described as a personal choice, with her expressing a desire to support and mentor the next generation of women leaders and entrepreneurs. Her nearly eight-year tenure at Match Group included roles as Chief Operating Officer and Head of Strategy before leading Tinder.

As Tinder embarks on this transitional phase, the company aims to address market challenges and reinvigorate growth through strategic initiatives and product enhancements.
