Your CalFresh Benefits Could Arrive Any Day Between June 1-10 — Here’s How to Know!
If you’re counting on CalFresh to help with groceries, you probably want to know exactly when your benefits will show up in June. No one likes waiting around, wondering when that extra money will land, right? Let’s make it simple.
How Does the Payment Schedule Work?
CalFresh doesn’t drop everyone’s food stamps on the same day. Instead, it’s spread out over the first 10 days of the month. The day you get your benefits depends on the last digit of your case number.
Here’s the deal:
-
Case number ends in 1? You get your benefits June 1.
-
Ends in 2? June 2.
-
Ends in 3? June 3.
-
…and so on, all the way to 0, which means your benefits come June 10.
So your deposit could be anywhere from June 1 to June 10, depending on your case number.
How Do You Use Your Benefits?
Once the money’s in, you use your EBT card—kind of like a debit card—to buy groceries. You can check your balance anytime with the free ebtEDGE app or online.
Most people see their benefits available right around midnight on their deposit day. If you don’t, don’t stress — sometimes it takes a little time to update.
If you run into trouble or have questions, you can call the EBT customer service line at 1-877-328-9677. They’re there to help.

What Can You Buy With CalFresh?
Good news: CalFresh covers all the basics like:
-
Fruits and veggies
-
Meat, fish, poultry
-
Milk, cheese, and other dairy
-
Bread, cereals, and snacks
-
Even seeds and plants if you want to grow your own food
Just remember, you can’t use it to buy alcohol, tobacco, hot prepared foods, or things like soap and pet food.
A Couple of Extra Things for June 2025
-
California gave out a one-time extra payment in June to help with grocery inflation. If you qualified, that money was deposited between June 16 and 20, depending on your case number. The amount you got depends on how many people are in your household.
-
If you haven’t gotten your new EBT card with a chip, don’t worry. They’re rolling those out to make things safer and reduce fraud. If you need one, just reach out to your local CalFresh office.
What If You Don’t See Your Benefits?
If your money isn’t in your account on the day it’s supposed to be:
-
Give it a few hours — sometimes it just takes a little while to post.
-
Make sure your EBT card isn’t expired or deactivated.
-
Check your balance online or on the app.
-
Contact your local CalFresh office or call customer service at 1-877-328-9677 if you’re still stuck.
