Irate Couple Shoots Woman in Head After Being Ejected From Memphis Restaurant

A routine outing turned violent last weekend at Tequila Town Bar on White Station Road when an angry couple allegedly shot a woman in the back of the head immediately after being escorted out.

According to Memphis Police, Jose Montoya and his wife, Judith Ramirez, became confrontational and were asked to leave the premises. As security was escorting them out, Montoya grabbed a gun from their car while Ramirez held open the door. Jose then opened fire on the security guard in a confrontation that turned into a chaotic shootout.

During the exchange of gunfire, bystanders report a woman was struck in the back of the head. The victim was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Authorities confirmed she remains in serious but stable condition .

Montoya and Ramirez fled the scene but were quickly apprehended nearby. Both have been charged with attempted first-degree murder, use of a firearm during a felony, vandalism, and aggravated assault. They are currently held without bond.

Police say witnesses heard Montoya shouting, “Y’all done f**k up now” just before he opened fire. Officials believe the shooting was an impulsive reaction after feeling wronged by the ejection from the restaurant.
