Brooklyn Heroes Stabbed After Helping Woman Who Felt Unsafe—Attacker Still on the Run
Brooklyn, NY – A late-night act of kindness turned into a horrifying ordeal when two men who stepped in to protect a woman in Brooklyn were viciously stabbed by the very man they tried to shield her from.

It all began just after 1 a.m. Saturday near Coney Island Avenue and Cortelyou Road. A woman, clearly shaken, told two strangers that a man had been following her and that she didn’t feel safe. Without hesitation, the men—ages 26 and 29—offered to walk her home to make sure she got there safely.
They did the right thing. She made it home unharmed and thanked them before they parted ways.
But less than 30 minutes later, that same man appeared again—this time stalking another woman near Ocean Parkway. When the Good Samaritans noticed and stepped in once more, the situation escalated in a flash.
The man pulled out a knife and attacked. One of the men was stabbed in the chest and shoulder. The other suffered a deep cut above his eye. Both were rushed to NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. Thankfully, they’re now in stable condition.
“They literally saved me,” the woman they helped said, shaken but grateful. “What happened to them breaks my heart.”
Police describe the suspect as a man around 5 feet 8 inches tall, and he is still on the loose. Surveillance video has been released, and anyone with information is urged to call NYPD Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS or send tips online or through X (@NYPDTips).
Residents in the Kensington neighborhood are rattled. One local told reporters, “It’s terrifying. These guys did the right thing, and they got hurt for it.”
As the NYPD continues their search, community members are being urged to stay alert—and to look out for one another.
