“She Hid the Body in a Futon”: Houston Woman Wanted After Chilling Murder and Escape to Mexico
Houston, TX (ZIP code- 77004)- — Authorities are searching for a Houston woman accused of murdering a man, concealing his body inside a futon, and fleeing the country before police could make an arrest.
The chilling discovery was made at an apartment in Midtown Houston, near San Jacinto Street and Elgin Street, after neighbors reported a foul odor coming from one of the units. Responding officers found the victim’s body folded and hidden inside a futon in the living room.
Investigators identified the suspect, who lived at the residence, and believe she left the country within 24 hours of the killing. According to officials, she traveled south through Texas and crossed into Mexico shortly after the alleged crime.

“She stuffed the body in a futon and crossed the border,” said Lt. Damien Ruiz with the Houston Police Department. “It was a calculated move. She knew exactly what she was doing.”
Authorities have not yet released the names of the suspect or the victim, pending family notifications. However, an arrest warrant has been issued and U.S. Marshals have joined the search as part of an international manhunt.
Residents at the apartment complex expressed shock.
“She lived here for months. It’s terrifying to know what happened inside,” said Ashley B., a neighbor who lives in the same building. “She acted completely normal the last time I saw her.”
This is the third known case this year where a Texas murder suspect fled the country to avoid arrest, law enforcement officials said. Authorities are reviewing border surveillance and working with Mexican officials to track her down.
Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers Houston at 713-222-TIPS or the Houston CARE Victim Hotline at 832-555-HELP.
“This case is a top priority,” Ruiz said. “We’re asking the public to help us bring her to justice.”
