PHILADELPHIA, PA – Police in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania have released shocking surveillance video of an incident that originally took place on July 4 where a mob of approximately 60 teens poured into a South Street Walgreens and proceeded to loot, vandalize, and assault employees before fleeing with unpaid merchandise.
The surveillance video shows a scene of absolute chaos, with dozens of teens rushing in through the entrance of the Walgreens, located at 1800 South Street, about 10 p.m. that evening. From there, the group proceeded to run throughout the store, knocking merchandise from shelves and racks, stealing merchandise, and grabbing items and throwing them at employees.
The attacks resulted in several injuries, police say, including a 46 year-old male who was hit over the head with a bottle.
According to authorities, the same mob is alleged to have performed similar acts of theft and vandalism at other businesses on the same evening.
According to witnesses, the group is said to have formed from Penn’s Landing before traveling up South Street, with new members joining in as they entered businesses.
