HOLLYWOOD, FL – A Florida man was fired from his job in Broward County, who became disgruntled and decided that he should channel that emotion into a sortie for armed jihad. Some suspect that there could possibly exist a connection between his aggressive acts and the ideology of Sharia.
According to Robert Spencer’s report at Jihad Watch, Mohammed Omar Haji Mohammed was fired from his job at Quickies, after which he began to post comments on Facebook that seemed worthy of concern. One such post read,
“Whoever knows why I came to America wait for the urgent news on television screens and victory is from Allah.”
Subsequently, on July 8, 2019, Mr. Mohammed Omar Haji Mohammed engaged in an altercation at a Walmart customer service desk, allegedly attempting to slash an employee there with scissors. He also allegedly shouted some phrases in Arabic, captured on police body cameras that, when translated by the FBI, expressed:
“We are coming for you Trump. We are coming for you with knives. God will send angels to destroy you,” as well as, “l need Trump cut. I want to cut, two portions.”
Obviously, Mr. Mohammed was not himself that day. His otherwise impeccable history of responsible citizenship should not be forever besmirched, simply because he came to America to engage in armed jihad for the purpose of transforming America into a branch of the worldwide Islamic caliphate. Let us remember that our ancestors were immigrants, too, who needed time to assimilate into American society.
And after all, Arabic is a subtly nuanced language for sensitive people. So perhaps Mr. Mohammed did not really mean to say that he wanted to slice the president up into little pieces. Surely his was just a hyperbolic metaphor, designed merely to vent his frustration.
While it is true that Sharia, Mr. Mohammed’s espoused ideology, does call for cutting and chopping to behead or mutilate those who reject that ideology, as well as a long series of other acts thought in Western society to be, well, unfriendly, we must take into account Mr. Mohammed’s longstanding cultural orientation, which has formulated his understanding of that which constitutes moral behavior. How could he know that slashing a Walmart employee with scissors was frowned on in Broward County? Or that insinuating that he might assassinate President Trump could be punished by five years in prison? (Mustn’t we?)
And it isn’t as though jihadis were lining up to dispatch us all, even though Sharia authorizes them to do so. So why should we get upset, just because mosques, madrassas, and Islamic centers throughout America teach the unfriendly tenets of Sharia, the eradication of America, and the propagation of the fascistic madness of Islam?
Mr. Mohammed is just misunderstood. People just need to be more tolerant of the worldview of barbarians. We need to coexist with those who want to destroy our nation, society, norms, values, and lives. Can’t we all just get along?
