Man Charged With Robbery & Assault of Pregnant Woman in Lake Worth; Grabbed Her from Behind, Threw Her to Ground, Punched Her in Stomach

Police have arrested a Malcom Hodges, 29, for robbing a pregnant woman while she was walking in Lake Worth Beach. He was charged with robbery and aggravated battery of a pregnant woman.

LAKE WORTH, FL – Police have arrested a man for robbing a pregnant woman while she was walking in Lake Worth Beach. The incident took place around noon on September 27, 2019.

According to the Palm Beach County Sheriffs Office, a pregnant female was walking South on D Street, in the City of Lake Worth Beach, when the suspect, Malcom Hodges, grabbed her from behind, threw her to the ground, punched her in the stomach, then grabbed her purse before fleeing southbound on foot.

Deputies were notified, arrived and established a perimeter in the area where the suspect was located and arrested. Police say she was clearly pregnant and Hodges must have known.

When arrested the suspect admitted that he often commits robberies to people in the Lake Worth area when he doesn’t have any money. He was transported to the Palm Beach County Jail and booked on the charges of robbery and aggravated battery of a pregnant woman.

Charges are accusations and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
