MIAMI-DADE, FL — The Miami-Dade Police Department’s Homicide Bureau is investigating a shooting that police say claimed the life of a 15 year-old male.
According to investigators, guests were attending a house party at 20220 SW 132 Avenue in Miami where a group were gathered on the side of the residence. An unknown subject approached the residence on foot and discharged a firearm multiple times striking 15 year old Angel Cueli.
The subject then ran to an awaiting vehicle and fled the area.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded to the scene and airlifted the victim to Kendall Regional Trauma Center, where he succumbed to his injuries. No other injuries were reported.
The investigation is continuing.
UPDATE 10/22/2019: The victim has been identified as Angel Cueli, 15. Investigators have identified and located Josue Cao, 17, for his involvement in the shooting. He was located at his residence in Miami, Florida, transported to the Homicide Bureau and charged with 2nd degree murder, discharging a firearm from a vehicle- a 2nd degree felony, and tampering with electronic device – a 3rd degree felony. A second individual, Matthew R. Hernandez, 18, was questioned for his involvement and has been charged with 2nd degree murder and discharging a firearm from a vehicle.
UPDATE 10/23/2019: Investigators have identified a third subject as Marcos M. Gonzalez, 18, for his involvement in the shooting. He has been arrested and charged with 2nd degree murder.
