FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives are releasing video and still images of a person of interest involved in the traffic dispute that left a man dead Nov. 17 in Oakland Park.
Security video shows a black male of medium build wearing a white shirt with blue jeans and a blue jean jacket entering and exiting a Publix near the 200 block of East Oakland Park Boulevard in Oakland Park shortly after a fatal traffic dispute that ended in a shooting.
Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives believe the man fled the scene in a white, full-size pickup traveling northbound on Northeast Second Avenue after leaving Oakland Park Boulevard around 6:19 p.m. Nov. 17.
Around 6:15 p.m., Ian Curtis of Fort Lauderdale was seen exiting his white Mercedes-Benz before collapsing onto the roadway in the 200 block of East Oakland Park Boulevard in Oakland Park. A passerby who saw Curtis lying in the roadway began performing CPR on him until Oakland Park Fire Rescue arrived. Paramedics transported Curtis to Broward Health Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Detectives are asking the driver of the pickup to come forward or anyone with information regarding the incident to contact Broward Sheriff’s Office Detective John Curcio at 954-321-4212.
