Broward Detectives Release Security Footage of Armed Robbery and Shooting in Lauderdale Lakes; Reward of Up to $3,000 Available for Leads

According to police, around 11:24 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12, a black male subject, between 5 feet 9 inches and 6 feet tall, wearing a black ski mask, all black clothing and white sneakers, entering 101 Liquors located at 3435 W. Oakland Park Blvd. in Lauderdale Lakes and stole the cash register drawer while shooting a victim.

LAUDERDALE LAKES, FL – Broward Sheriff’s Office robbery detectives have released security footage of a male subject involved in an armed robbery and shooting in Lauderdale Lakes on Jan. 12.

According to police, around 11:24 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12, surveillance video shows a black male subject, between 5 feet 9 inches and 6 feet tall, wearing a black ski mask, all black clothing and white sneakers, entering 101 Liquors located at 3435 W. Oakland Park Blvd. in Lauderdale Lakes. The subject, armed with a silver and black semi-automatic handgun, is seen approaching the clerk and demanding money before jumping the counter and retrieving the cash register drawer. 

After obtaining the register, the armed robber jumps back over the counter where he is struck in the back of the head by a man who tried to stop him. A fight pursues, and the man is subsequently shot in the abdomen and knocked to the floor. The subject then flees the scene in a newer model four-door grey/silver Kia Optima with tinted windows. 

Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue transported the victim in critical condition to Broward Health Medical Center for treatment of his injury.
