SPRING HILL, FL – After a three month investigation, on Tuesday, July 28, 2020, detectives with the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office Vice and Narcotic Unit executed a Search Warrant at 7464 Canterbury Street, in Spring Hill. That investigation revealed the residents, Benedict Ravella, 49, and Ashley Ruzin, 34, were involved in the distribution of heroin from the residence.
A thorough search of the residence revealed a trafficking amount of hydromorphone hydrochloride, fentanyl, methamphetamine, heroin, methadone hydrochloride, alprazolam, oxycodone, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
Detectives located the following:
- $3,700.00 in U.S. currency
- 1.6 grams alprazolam
- 3.3 grams methadone hydrochloride
- 0.6 grams gaunfacine hydrochloride
- 6.6 grams methamphetamine
- 2.8 grams fentanyl
- 3.7 grams marijuana
- 2.5 grams oxycodone
- 8.3 grams hydromorphone hydrochloride
- 1.2 grams heroin
Both Ravella and Ruzin where charged with trafficking in hydromorphone hydrochloride, possession of structure for trafficking drugs, possession with intent to sell fentanyl, possession with intent to sell, methamphetamine, possession with intent to sell heroin, possession with intent to sell methadone hydrochloride, possession with intent to sell alprazolam, possession with intent to sell alprazolam, possession with intent to sell oxycodone, possession of new legend drug, possession of marijuana under 20 grams, possession of paraphernalia. Bond was set at $148,000 each.
