ORLANDO, FL – The ongoing woes of the so-called “Happiest Place on Earth” continued on Wednesday after a violent, profanity-laced, multi-family brawl in the Orlando, Florida-based amusement park was captured on bystander video.
According to reports, the fracas broke out in the park’s Magic Kingdom section in Fantasyland, located between the Cinderella’s Castle and Peter Pan’s Flight attractions, and continued unabated for several minutes until Disney security members and law enforcement arrived on the scene.
The fight reportedly began after a female park attendee, waiting in line with her family to see Mickey’s PhilharMagic 3D movie, left temporarily to retrieve a cell phone that she had mistakenly left in a electric conveyance vehicle. Upon returning, another family waiting in the same line was said to have prevented her from re-joining her family, allegedly pushing the woman at one point.
The woman’s family then confronted the individuals that prevented her from re-entering the line, with one of them reportedly saying, “We don’t appreciate you guys pushing my younger sister.” From there, things escalated into shouting and pushing until an all-out fistfight erupted between members of both families, with male and female members of each group punching and cursing each other while horrified bystanders watched in disbelief.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that three participants in the fight were arrested for misdemeanor battery, and that at least one male participant in the fight was taken to the hospital with a serious facial laceration; others suffered cuts and bruises and were treated at the scene.
In addition to Disney World’s ongoing legal battles with the State of Florida, the park itself has seen multiple fights break out amongst guests ever since it reopened following the COVID-19 pandemic. In May, for example, a fight over a fireworks viewing spot left a women with bleeding on her brain after she fell and hit her head on the ground.
