One of the most popular touring rock bands, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, has announced dates for their annual Christmas rock extravaganza tour kicking off in November 2023. Dubbed “The Ghosts of Christmas Eve – The Best of TSO & More” tour, it will visit 62 cities across North America and deliver a record-breaking 104 performances throughout the winter season.

Al Pitrelli, TSO’s guitarist and musical director, broke the exciting news in an interview with Associated Press. “We are thrilled to be back on the road again this winter to spread some much-needed Christmas cheer!” he said. The tour will mark the band’s 28th year of touring during the holidays, cementing their status as a staple of the winter season for rock and metal fans.

“#TSO2023Tour is going to be our biggest and most epic production yet with 104 shows across North America!”, tweeted TSO along with the full tour routing. The massive tour gets underway on November 15th in Green Bay, Wisconsin and wraps up on December 30th in Saint Paul, Minnesota.

Loyal TSO fans expressed their excitement on social media. “Always the highlight of my Christmas season. Can’t wait to take my kids!”, commented one fan. “Been going every year since 1999. Truly a family tradition.”, said another.

In another statement, Pitrelli estimated that around half of their concertgoers have been attending their winter shows since the very beginning. “They are like family to us now. We love seeing multigenerational families come together to the shows year after year,” he said.

The massive production promises to transport audiences to a magical Christmas dreamland through their signature brand of bombastic rock opera. Inspired by their hugely popular 1999 album “The Ghosts of Christmas Eve,” the tour’s name refers to one of the band’s most beloved stories which follows a runaway girl on Christmas Eve as she has visions.

Fans have raved about the immersive visual spectacle that has become synonymous with TSO tours. With lasers, lights, and pyrotechnics accompanying the hard rock arrangements of classic Christmas carols and original compositions, it has cemented its place as the hottest ticket of the season. The box office success is a testament to this, with Pollstar reporting the band’s total gross at $769 million to date.

With the unprecedented scale of 104 shows, the 2023 winter tour is shaping up to be the biggest and most ambitious TSO production yet. Tickets go on sale September 15th with a donation from each going towards charity. Fans won’t want to miss out on being a part of the magic that has become a treasured tradition for so many across North America.
