According to reports, Ex-NFL player, Sergio Brown, was reported missing by law enforcement and was arrested by police on Tuesday, nearly a month after his mother’s death as his mother’s body was found near a creek in Illinois.

According to the San Diego Sheriff’s Department’s reports, Sergio Brown was charged on a felony fugitive arrest charge.

A few weeks after when family members reported Brown and his mother missing, 73-year, Myrtle Brown, parent of Sergio Brown, was found dead near a creek behind her home in Maywood, Illinois, on the 16th of September, an area 12 miles west of Chicago.

In the video, Brown vehemently denied the reports, repeatedly calling them “fake news” and directed his comments toward ESPN. He expressed his belief that it might have been the FBI who entered his home on the anniversary of Bob Marley’s death without a valid reason, mentioning that he was taken from his residence twice, once by the Maywood Police Department. Brown speculated that either the FBI or the Maywood police might have been involved.

Late last month, while authorities were still trying to find Brown, he made appearances in videos on social media where he talked about the news surrounding his mother’s passing.

He posted a second video the following day.

“I thought my f—ing mama was on vacation in Sinaloa. That’s f—ing fake news. Get the f— out of my goddamn face. She’s retired, and you want to come to me? The FBI had to do it. They have some power to do some s— like that. What the f— is going on? That’s fake news.”

Information about the circumstances of his arrest was not immediately available.

The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled Myrtle Brown’s death a homicide, saying she was injured during an assault.

As reported, The Maywood police spokesperson, Carmen Rivera said that they were aware of the videos and investigating.

Brown signed with the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent in 2010. He played with several teams across his seven-year career, including the Indianapolis Colts, Jacksonville Jaguars, and the Buffalo Bills.

He last played in the league in 2016.
