Just as customers were starting to look forward to iOS 17.2, an unexpected rumor emerged indicating Apple may release iOS 17.1.2, another small upgrade.

The current iOS version, 17.1.1, landed not long ago on November 7th, but rumors hint at an imminent iOS 17.1.2 release, indicating potential fixes and improvements in the pipeline.

According to insights shared by Joe Rossignol at MacRumors, the analytical logs of the website detected signs of Apple conducting internal tests on iOS 17.1.2. These findings, only recently appearing, point towards a potential swift release. Speculation arises regarding the nature of this unexpected update.

Unlike Rapid Security Response releases, dedicated primarily to addressing security vulnerabilities, this forthcoming iOS version is likely aimed at resolving existing bugs and issues rather than urgent security concerns.

Apple may still include some security patches in this version, despite this. According to early reports, iOS 17.1.1 was well-welcomed overall and didn’t seem to cause any major issues when it was released.
