The neighborhood in Long Beach, Southern California, has been shocked by violent episodes, which prompted a search for a suspect in two separate assaults on Thursday.
The distressing incident, caught on surveillance video, captured a goon wielding a metal rod striking a woman pushing a baby stroller on a street.
After being struck in the back of the head, the California victim let out a terrifying cry and scared away, taking the stroller with her. The woman was hurt, but not seriously, and was taken to the hospital; fortunately, the infant was uninjured.
Just hours later and a few blocks away, 60-year-old Aura Ortega suffered a brutal attack while walking and talking on the phone.
Ortega recounted being struck in the head, causing profuse bleeding down her neck. Long Beach police believe the same man is responsible for both assaults, prompting heightened concerns in the area.
California Authorities Call for Assistance
Neighbors expressed shock and anger over the brazen attacks, with Juan Rivas urging authorities to swiftly apprehend the assailant, stating, “He needs to pay for this.”
Describing the suspect as a Hispanic man in his mid-20s, approximately 5 feet 5 to 5 feet 7 in height, sporting a peach fuzz mustache, the police have intensified patrols in the area.
The assailant was last seen wearing distinct clothing a white hat, a turquoise sweater over a black hooded sweater, blue pants, white and black tennis shoes, and carrying a black bag strapped around his chest.
Law enforcement officials are actively pursuing leads and searching to apprehend the culprit responsible for these brutal and seemingly random attacks.
