Asa Hutchinson Publicly Supports Nikki Haley, Condemns Trump’s Divisive Influence on America

Asa Hutchinson’s surprise endorsement boosts Nikki Haley’s chances against frontrunner Donald Trump in the New Hampshire primary.

Hutchinson, a conservative whose recent presidential bid underscored his opposition to Trump, dropped out of the race earlier this week.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter) to share his endorsement, Hutchinson didn’t mince words regarding his views on Trump. He stated, “Anyone who believes Donald Trump will unite this country has been asleep over the last 8 years. 

The former governor of Arkansas emphasized his opposition to the outgoing president by urging support for Nikki Haley in the forthcoming New Hampshire primary. “Trump intentionally tries to divide America and will continue to do so,” he said.

Nikki Haley, who previously served as the United States ambassador to the United Nations, is actively working to expand her appeal beyond the confines of traditional party affiliations. She is making efforts to reach a broader audience and connect with individuals who may not align strictly with conventional political boundaries.

Hutchinson vs. Scott Endorsements

Following her third-place finish in Iowa, Haley aims to attract independent and unaffiliated voters in New Hampshire’s primary on January 23, transforming the contest into a head-to-head battle against Trump.

Hutchinson’s endorsement comes on the heels of South Carolina Senator Tim Scott’s endorsement of Trump, highlighting the divisions within the Republican Party. The move also follows biotech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy’s public backing of Trump, showcasing the diverse alliances forming within the GOP.

Notably, Haley secured the support of former Maryland Governor Larry Hogan last weekend, further solidifying her standing as a candidate capable of garnering cross-party endorsements. 

Hogan, previously speculated to be considering a third-party bid, threw his support behind Haley’s bid for the nomination. As the New Hampshire primary approaches, the endorsements and alliances within the Republican Party continue to shape the dynamics of the race.
