Nashville Incident: Country Star Chris Young Faces Charges of Disorderly Conduct and Assault
Following an altercation at a local pub, country music artist Chris Young was taken into custody in Nashville on Monday night and charged with assaulting an officer, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct.
The incident occurred just blocks away from the iconic Country Music Hall of Fame, in the heart of Nashville’s famed Broadway nightlife district.
The trouble began when Young, known for winning the fourth edition of Nashville Star in 2006, allegedly started following agents from Tennessee’s Alcohol Beverage Commission as they conducted routine compliance checks at Tin Roof, a popular venue in Nashville.
After having his ID checked, Young engaged in a conversation with the agents and began recording them on video.
The situation escalated when the agents moved to the neighboring DawgHouse bar, with Young and his friends reportedly following. According to agent Joseph T Phillips, Young tried to prevent Phillips from leaving, eventually striking the agent on the shoulder. The confrontation intensified as bar patrons intervened, creating a hostile environment for law enforcement.

Two agents placed Young, who displayed bloodshot eyes and slurred speech, in handcuffs, leading to his arrest just after 10 pm. He was later released at 1:09 am on Tuesday after posting a $2,500 bond. Young is scheduled to appear in court on February 16.
Despite the legal issues, Young seemed focused on promoting his upcoming album, Young Love & Saturday Nights, scheduled for release on March 22.
As news of the arrest spread, a representative for Young declined to comment, while the Tennessee Alcohol and Beverage Commission spokesperson remained silent on the incident.
This incident marks a departure from Young’s otherwise successful career, which includes critical acclaim and a Grammy nomination for his song Think of You in 2017. The country star’s legal woes add a surprising twist to his narrative, leaving fans and the industry curious about the unfolding events surrounding his arrest.
