In a showcase of resilience and determination, the No. 21 UNLV Lady Rebels stormed their way to a historic victory, clinching their third consecutive Mountain West championship. 

Led by a stellar performance from Desi-Rae Young, UNLV showcased their prowess on both ends of the court, ultimately triumphing over San Diego State with a commanding 66-49 win on Wednesday night.

Young, a force to be reckoned with, spearheaded UNLV’s charge with an impressive stat line, tallying 18 points, 10 rebounds, and six steals. 

Her contributions proved instrumental in securing the coveted championship for her team. Additionally, Young’s resilience was on full display as she battled through a potential injury scare, showcasing her determination to lead her team to victory.

Trailing at halftime with just 20 points on the board, UNLV ignited a fierce offensive surge in the third quarter, sparked by a 12-0 run that shifted the momentum firmly in their favor.

Key contributions from Ashley Scoggin, Alyssa Brown, and Amarachi Kimpson complemented Young’s stellar performance, as UNLV showcased their depth and versatility on both ends of the court.
