Reese was named to the USBWA First Team All-America, while Morrow received All-America honorable mention, showcasing their outstanding performances throughout the season.
Reese and Morrow have been instrumental in LSU’s success this year, both tallying impressive double-doubles. Reese boasts 23 double-doubles, while Morrow has notched 20, making them the third-most in the nation.
Reese’s remarkable consistency is highlighted by her 12 consecutive double-doubles, marking her third such streak of at least 10 games during her time at LSU. Furthermore, Reese has scored in double figures in all 65 games she has played for LSU.
Angel Reese and Aneesah Morrow’s Dominance for LSU
Reese’s impact goes beyond just double-doubles. She is the first player since Wendy Scholtens of Vanderbilt in 1989 and 1990 to lead the SEC in scoring and rebounding in consecutive seasons.
Averaging 19.0 points and 13.1 rebounds per game this season, Reese ranks second in the nation in rebounding and leads with 5.6 offensive rebounds per game.
Her versatility is evident in the seven 20/20 games she has recorded in two seasons at LSU, including a standout performance of 25 points and 20 rebounds against Auburn this season, with six of those games featuring at least 25 points and 20 rebounds.
Despite battling a right ankle injury during the SEC Tournament, Reese showcased her resilience and determination.
After rolling her ankle in the fourth quarter against Auburn, Reese was uncertain for the following game against Ole Miss.
However, she played through the pain, scoring 21 points and grabbing 17 rebounds. In the SEC Tournament Championship, she continued her dominant performance with 15 points and 13 rebounds.
