Great player Izzy Daniel completed a remarkable career for the Cornell women’s hockey team by making history for the group.
Daniel received honors as the National Player of the Year and the prestigious Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award. She was victorious in this match. After receiving two consecutive nominations for the honor, Daniel became the first Cornellian to win the prize.
A few days later, the senior forward was named to the AHCA’s first team of All-Americans. This accomplishment marks the first time a Cornell player has been picked, as Jamie Bourbonnais, a player for the PWHL New York and the Canadian National Team, was the first athlete to get a selection in the past. 2014 saw Jill Saulnier, a forward with Bourbonnais and the PWHL and the Canadian national team, selected as the last forward from Cornell.
During his five seasons as a player at Cornell, Daniel finished third in program history with 107 career assists. With 38 assists in 2023–24, he also exceeded the school record for most assists in a season.

The Minnesota native is tied for eighth in program history with 51 goals and 158 career points, placing her fifth overall. Daniel played for Cornell, where the Big Red earned two Ivy League crowns, two ECAC regular season titles, and three NCAA Tournament berths during his time with the Huskies.
Through her outstanding career, Daniel has built an image at Cornell that will eventually lead to her getting inducted into the program’s hall of fame.
