In Tucson, Arizona, a couple facing multiple charges, including the abduction of their children, was apprehended in Mexico. The kids were rescued and transported to Arizona, where they will be placed in the care of The Department of Child Safety until they can be reunited with their family. The U.S. Marshals Service upgraded the investigation to a major case following the arrests.

After pursuing various leads, the USMS District of Arizona Task Force confirmed the couple had fled to Mexico. In August 2023, investigators received information suggesting the couple might be hiding in Aguascalientes using false identities to avoid detection.

U.S. Marshals Service Personnel persisted in narrowing down the couple’s location and identified an individual suspected of aiding them. Tucson Chiefuy of Police Chad E. Kasmar expressed gratitude for the collaborative effort that led to the arrest of the violent criminals and the safe return of the children after five years of dedicated work by federal, state, and local partners.
