Poppy Harlow, the long-time CNN anchor who recently co-hosted “CNN This Morning,” shared on Friday that she will be leaving the network. In an email to her colleagues, Harlow expressed her gratitude for the nearly two decades she spent at CNN. She mentioned how she grew both as a journalist and a person during her time there, learning from her colleagues who have become dear friends.

Mark Thompson, CNN’s chief executive, commended Harlow for her exceptional reporting and interviewing skills combined with a human touch that resonated with audiences. He praised her as a unique talent and wished her success in her future endeavors. Amy Entelis, the executive vice president of talent and content, also lauded Harlow for her brilliant journalism and compassionate reporting, emphasizing her impact during her more than 16 years at CNN.

Harlow, who joined CNN in 2008, covered significant global events during her tenure, such as the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings and the 2015 Paris terror attacks. With a background in business journalism, she hosted the “Boss Files” podcast and conducted interviews with prominent figures like Warren Buffet, Mark Zuckerberg, Bill and Melinda Gates, Susan Wojcicki, Jamie Dimon, and others.

Her departure marks the end of an era at CNN, as she leaves behind a legacy of impactful reporting and insightful interviews that have shaped the network’s coverage over the years.
