Francis Ngannou mourns death of 15-month-old son
On April 30, former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou shared the heartbreaking news that his 15-month-old son, Kobe, had passed away. Ngannou, 37, expressed his deep sorrow in a social media post accompanied by a black and white photo of him with his son, describing Kobe as full of life and joy. The news elicited condolences from fellow athletes, including UFC fighter Conor McGregor.
Following his time in the UFC, the French-Cameroonian fighter transitioned to professional boxing, where he faced defeats against Tyson Fury in 2023 and Anthony Joshua last month in Saudi Arabia.
Ngannou revealed on April 29 that his son had passed away on April 27, though he did not disclose the cause of death. In his tribute on social media, he expressed his profound grief over the loss of his son, lamenting that it was too soon for Kobe to leave.
