Who was James Gregory?

James Gregory Jr., born May 6, 1946, in Lithonia, Georgia, worked as a salesman in his early years. This was before he entered the stand-up comedy scene.

He started presenting the comedians at Atlanta’s The Punch Line comedy club when he was thirty-six years old. That got him his first gig at the Comedy Above Club on February 17, 1982.

For those unfamiliar with his work, two of his most well-known accomplishments are an album and a book titled It Might Be a Law, I Don’t Know. His work on the DVD Grease, Gravy & John Wayne’s Momma is well-received.

He debuted in the comedy business as a guest star on several syndicated radio programs.

His credits that many still remember include the Bob and Tom Show, Steve and DC, Rick and Bubba, and the John Boy and Billy Show.

Gregory’s representation agency, Nashville Publicity Group, stated that the Southeast of the United States highly valued his talents. His performances in theaters and comedy clubs in tiny communities close to larger cities won him special recognition.
