‘Furiosa’ Standing Ovation At Cannes: Know More Here
May 16, Cannes, France (ANI): Furiosa: A Mad Max franchise, George Miller’s most recent instalment in the Mad Max franchise, had its global debut at the esteemed Cannes Film Festival amid a lavish display of cinematic suspense and excitement.
As the titles rolled, the crowd at Cannes’ Palais des Festivals was treated to a visual spectacular that had them standing and cheering for an astounding seven minutes and fifty seconds, according to Deadline.
Anya Taylor-Joy, Chris Hemsworth, and Tom Burke were among the star-studded cast members who honoured the premiere with their presence.
The picture, according to Baz Luhrmann, who is no stranger to Cannes, is “a steampunk, Wagnerian opera,” perfectly encapsulating Miller’s singular vision.
George Miller thanked the crowd after the movie and acknowledged the effort that went into making the movie.
“Thank you. We worked very hard on this film and it is very interesting to see what you make of it,” said the acclaimed director, as per Deadline.
The film “Furiosa” explores the origins of its title heroine and follows her journey from the dangerous Wasteland to the Green Place of Many Mothers.
The actress who plays Furiosa, Anya Taylor-Joy, talked about how difficult it is to play a character with so many facets.
Taylor-Joy told Deadline, “Because of the demanding shooting schedule, I was very often alone, and (Furiosa’s) a character that’s very much in her head and she’s very, very quiet.”
“Furiosa,” with its compelling plot and stunning cinematography, is sure to bring back the Mad Max craze that enthralled viewers with “Fury Road.”
According to Deadline, George Miller acknowledged at CinemaCon in Las Vegas that he was committed to the franchise “because they’re very addictive.”
‘Furiosa’s’ global release is almost approaching, and fans are excited about the chance to relive Mad Max’s bleak universe.
