12 People Injured In Turbulence On The Qatar Airways Flight To Dublin: Check Out More Here!
Authorities at Dublin Airport announced on Sunday that a Qatar Airways aircraft travelling from Doha to Dublin encountered turbulence, resulting in twelve reported injuries.
Before 1:00 pm (1200 GMT), the aircraft made a safe and timely landing.
In a statement, Dublin Airport claimed that six passengers and six crew members reported injuries when the aircraft encountered turbulence while flying over Turkey. “Upon landing, the aircraft was met by emergency services, including Airport Police and our Fire and Rescue department,” the statement read.
Before getting off the plane, every passenger had their injuries evaluated.
“Eight passengers were subsequently taken to hospital,” the airport said, adding that the return flight to Doha will operate as normal today afternoon, albeit with a delay.
“Flight operations at Dublin Airport were unaffected and continue as normal this afternoon,” they added.
“A small number of passengers and crew sustained minor injuries in flight and are now receiving medical attention,” according to a statement released by Qatar Airways.
“The matter is currently subject to an internal investigation,” it stated.
A Singapore Airlines flight from London experienced extreme turbulence five days ago, resulting in the death of a British man suspected of having a heart attack and the injuries of numerous others.
Although deaths from turbulence are uncommon, injuries have accrued over time. A few aviation analysts and meteorologists have noticed a rise in reports of turbulence encounters, which suggests that climate change may have an effect on flying conditions.
