Next Monday, June 3rd, will mark 13 years since IU student Lauren Spierer disappeared after a night out on the Bloomington campus. Despite numerous witnesses, she vanished without a trace in 2011, leading to a high-profile case that captured local, national, and global attention but remains unsolved.

Today, on May 28, 2024, “College Girl, Missing: The True Story of How a Young Woman Disappeared in Plain Sight” was released. Author and Investigative Journalist Shawn Cohen sheds light on revelations about the last individuals to see Lauren alive and explores the events surrounding her disappearance.

Following Lauren’s vanishing, Shawn Cohen from the Journal News delved into the closed-mouth group of friends who held key information about Lauren’s activities before she went missing.

Thirteen years later, Cohen returns to Indiana with his new book, delving into the details of Lauren’s final night, the people she encountered, and the ongoing police and community efforts to unravel the mystery. Despite persistent inquiries into the events of that fateful night, there has been a notable silence surrounding the case, hindering the investigation into Lauren’s disappearance.
