Veteran character and voice actor Terrence Beasor passed away. He was most recognized for his work on The Gods Must Be Crazy, Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story, and his recurrent parts on The Middle and Raising Hope. He was eighty-nine.
According to a representative, Beasor passed away on May 28 at his Santa Monica home alongside actor Muriel Minot, his wife of more than 55 years.
Throughout his 40-year career, Beasor made appearances on numerous TV shows, such as L.A. Law, Dynasty, The Incredible Hulk, The Greatest American Hero, The A-Team, Hardcastle and McCormick, Hill Street Blues, and Cheers.
In addition, he provided voices for several Star Trek television episodes, video games, motion pictures and television shows, such as Jaws: The Revenge, Winchell, Coupe de Ville, Remington Steele, and Runaway.
On February 2, 1935, Beasor was born in Omaha, Nebraska. At age 7, his family relocated to Los Angeles. He served in the Navy for four years, attended Garfield High School, and in 1953, he made his stage debut at the Pasadena Playhouse. In his 30s, he moved to New York.
When he was doing two acts at the Equity Library Theatre in 1968, he met Minot. The fact that Beasor’s first union was the Actors’ Equity Association made him extremely proud.
For seven years, the pair resided in Concord, Massachusetts, where they co-directed multiple productions in the Boston region. After graduating from Brandeis University with an MFA in 1976, they relocated to Los Angeles. (infront.com)
Together, they appeared in plays, advertisements, Gangster Chronicles, Days of Our Lives, and The Practice.
The family proposes making a donation to Entertainment Connections (the new name for the Actors Fund) in his honour instead of sending flowers. His wish would be for anything that will assist actors. (sunspacecentralohio.com)
