Palm Beach County School District Employee Accidentally Shot

An accidental shooting prompted the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office to respond.

At the gun range owned by the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office, an unintentional discharge took place.

The shooter was enrolled in a civilian training program run by the Palm Beach County School District.

With non-life-threatening injuries from a gunshot wound to the hip, the victim was sent to a nearby hospital.

The Palm Beach County School District sent the following statement to WPBF 25 News on Monday afternoon:

“During a training exercise this morning at the PBSO gun range, a School District employee inadvertently discharged their firearm and was impacted by a self-inflicted wound. They were transported to an area hospital for evaluation and treatment. Injuries were non-life threatening.”
