Herschel Guy Beahm Arrested: Know More Here

Herschel “Guy” Beahm, better known online as Dr Disrespect is a game streamer. His gaming employer “immediately terminated” his employment after claiming to have “become aware of an allegation” against him.

Beahm co-founded Midnight Society, and this move comes four years after he was abruptly banned from Twitch, a streaming network where he had a sizable fan base.
The platform, which is owned by Amazon, merely stated that it took action when users disobeyed the rules, without ever explaining why he was removed.

Beahm acknowledged messaging “an individual minor” in 2017 but denied any misconduct in a social media post.

“Were there real intentions behind these messages, the answer is not,” he wrote in a post on X, calling them “casual, mutual conversations that sometimes leaned too much in the direction of being inappropriate”.

“Nothing illegal happened, no pictures were shared, no crimes were committed, I never even met the individual,” he said.

“Let me be clear, it was not a criminal case against me and no criminal charges have ever been brought against me.”

Nonetheless, he expressed regret for his acts to his “colleagues and community.”
“That’s on me as an adult, a husband and a father… it should have never happened” , he stated.

Because Beahm’s resignation from Twitch was so sudden and mainly unannounced, it generated headlines.
The platform informed the BBC in 2020 that “when we have evidence that a streamer has acted in violation of our Community Guidelines or Terms of Service, we take appropriate action.”
After Beahm threatened to sue him two years later, he and Twitch reached a deal in which none of them acknowledged any wrongdoing.

Since his Twitch suspension, he has been streaming on YouTube, where he has amassed over 4.7 million subscribers.

“On Friday evening we became aware of an allegation against one of our co-founders [sic] Guy Beahm aka Dr Disrespect,” Midnight Society wrote on X (previously Twitter) on Monday.
“We assumed his innocence and began speaking with parties involved,” the statement continued. And we have to take action to uphold our values and ethics as a studio and as individuals.”
The accusation was not further elaborated upon by the studio.
Two former Twitch employees have reportedly accused Mr. Beahm of inappropriate behavior, according to tech news outlet The Verge.
Twitch, YouTube, and Midnight Society have all been approached by BBC News for comments.

Fans have taken a liking to Dr. Disrespect because of his fast-paced play style and blunt, occasionally offensive, remarks.
He is sarcastic and conceited with opponents, but he can also be snippy with his supporters, who relish the opportunity to be publicly humiliated by him.
Just prior to Midnight Society’s announcement on Monday, Mr. Beahm hinted that he might take a long vacation via a live stream.
He mentioned feeling “burnt out” and asked himself if he should “step away” from his business endeavours.
He said that it might be time to try something different but did not explicitly address the accusations.
