Missing teen’s remains found in Sanibel waters
A distressing incident unfolded at Blind Pass Beach in Sanibel on Tuesday, as multiple 911 calls reported struggling swimmers in the water. A swift response from various agencies ensued, with the Sanibel Fire District successfully rescuing two swimmers.
However, a third individual, later identified as 17-year-old Isaac Breese from Cape Coral, was reported missing after entering the water.
A comprehensive search and rescue operation was launched immediately, involving a collaborative effort from the Sanibel Police Department, Sanibel Fire & Rescue District, Captiva Island Fire Control District, Lee County Sheriff’s Office, US Coast Guard, and other partner agencies.
Sadly, Breese’s remains were recovered on Thursday afternoon, bringing a somber conclusion to the search efforts. Sanibel Police Chief William Dalton extended his condolences in a statement, requesting that the community keep Isaac and his family in their thoughts and prayers.
Isaac Breese, a talented soccer player from North Fort Myers High School, was set to begin his senior year. His untimely passing has left a profound impact on the community, serving as a poignant reminder of the importance of water safety and the swift action of first responders in times of crisis.
