General Hospital Actor Doug Sheehan Dies at 75

Veteran actor Doug Sheehan, most known for his roles on “General Hospital” and “Knots Landing”, passed away on June 29, 2024, at the age of 75.

Born in Santa Monica, California, Sheehan began his acting career on an episode of “Charlie’s Angels”. He is most well known for his breakout role as Joe Kelly on “General Hospital”, which he played from 1979 to 1982. He appeared in over 200 episodes of the show and received a Daytime Emmy Award nomination for his performance.

Sheehan went on to star in “Knots Landing”, playing reporter Ben Gibson from 1983 to 1988. He played the love interest of Valene Ewing, played by Joan Van Ark, and the two were eventually married.

In addition to his work on “General Hospital” and “Knots Landing“, Sheehan appeared in numerous other television shows, including “Columbo”, “MacGyver”, “Cheers”, “Sabrina the Teenage Witch” and “Clueless”.

Sheehan passed away peacefully at his home in Big Horn, Wyoming, with his wife by his side. The cause of death has not been publicly announced.
