Kentucky motel ordered to pay $2 million after guest dies from 150-degree shower

A Kentucky man, 76 years old, tragically suffered severe burns leading to his death, resulting in a legal battle that culminated in his family being awarded over $2 million. The lawsuit detailed how Alex Chronis, while staying at the Econo Lodge in Erlanger, Kentucky, encountered scorching water temperatures exceeding 150 degrees Fahrenheit during a fatal shower incident on November 18, 2021.

Chronis endured excruciating second- and third-degree burns, necessitating skin grafting due to the scalding shower water. Despite undergoing months of hospitalization, he succumbed to his injuries on June 19, 2022.
