Extreme Makeover: Home Edition TV designer Eduardo Xol passed away. He was fifty-eight years old. Xol, who was hurt in what seemed to be a stabbing on September 10 in Palm Springs, passed away on Friday at Desert Regional Medical Center, according to a report from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

The Palm Springs Police Department was contacted for any inquiry, but no precise cause of death was given by the department regarding the reality TV personality. The Palm Springs Police Department was unavailable for comment directly because they had responded to the initial call following the alleged attack ten days prior. The Sheriff’s Department estimated that Xol was injured on September 10 at 5:41 a.m. The Desert Sun reported that Palm Springs police had accused Richard Joseph Gonzales, 34, with attempted murder after he reported the stabbing.

“We are heartbroken at the tragic loss of our beloved Eduardo Xol,” his family said in a statement obtained by The Hollywood Reporter. “We know that his kindness has touched the lives of so many. We ask for that kindness returned now allowing our privacy to be respected as we process our grief. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made in Eduardo’s name to the Lupus Foundation of America as he spent so much of his life in the service of others.”

Xol studied theater at UCLA and played the keyboard and percussion before landing a job as a TV designer on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. He also created comic revues and musical plays that went across the country. His parents were Mexican Americans, and he was born in Los Angeles. He has appeared in TV music videos and commercials throughout Latin America.
