Brooklyn: A wave of teen violence continues to grip Brooklyn, with two 17-year-old boys shot near a school in Canarsie on Wednesday afternoon, adding to a series of troubling incidents in the area.
Another Broad Daylight Shooting Near Brooklyn School
The gunfire erupted around 3:15 p.m. near Avenue J and 82nd Street, just steps away from Isaac Bildersee Junior High School. The latest shooting took place only a day after a similar incident in which a 15-year-old student was shot outside his high school less than a mile away. According to the New York Police Department (NYPD), one of the boys involved in Wednesday’s shooting was struck multiple times in the leg and torso, while the other was hit in the leg. Both victims were transported to the hospital and are currently in stable condition.
A String of Teen Shootings Near Schools

Just one day before the incident, another teen was gunned down near South Shore High School, also in Canarsie. Emergency responders rushed the boy to Brookdale University Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition.
