Hamas fires rockets at Tel Aviv

On October 7 2023, Hamas and several other Palestinian nationalist militant groups launched coordinated armed invasions from the Gaza strips into the Gaza Envelope of Southern Israel, the first invasion of Israeli territory since the 1948 Arab-Israeli war.

The IDF said alerts had sounded in the Central Israel due to rocket fire from the Gaza strip. Hamas fired five rockets from Khan Yunis in the Gaza Strip, The IDF said on Monday. rocket alerts were heard in the area starting from 11:00 a.m. local time.

Alerts were sounded in Tel Aviv, Kfar Chabad, Rishon Lezion, among other localities in the centre of the country.

The military identified the rocket impacts and shortly after the alerts, paramedical was called upon at the site of attack. Magen David Adom said its paramedics operated the area of the SdotDan Regional Council. They provided medical care and found two ladies in their 30s injured. The injured women were immediately transferred to the Shamir Medical Center.

MDA paramedic Yossi Nabul expressed what he saw upon arrival at the scene. “We arrived at the scene quickly and saw the two injured women, who were fully conscious and suffered from minor shrapnel wounds. We provided them with initial medical treatment on-site and transported them by MDA ambulance to the hospital, where they were in mild condition. During the treatment, we understood that one of the injured was inside a building, and the other was in an open area nearby,” he said.

Chabad later reported a direct hit in Kfar Chabad. Deputy head of the Sdot Dan Regional Council, Benjamin Lifshitz described the incident as “We went outside and rushed to the site, where we found a small crater. Two women, who were inside the house, were wounded by shrapnel. Both of them were evacuated and transferred to the hospital.

Hamas took the responsibility of the attack and claims that its attack was a response of the blockade of Gaza Strip, the expansion of illegal Israeli settlements, rising Israeli settler violence and recent escalations at Al-Aqsa.
